Edinburgh Airport Transfers: Private Cars to the City and Across Scotland

Edinburgh Airport is about 8 miles west of the city centre. Our private transfers meet you in arrivals and take you to your hotel in the Old or New Town, to Leith, or further afield across Scotland, at a fixed price agreed before you travel.

Fares

• City centre (Princes Street): Economy Sedan from about £34, First Class Sedan about £47, Standard Van about £57, First Class Van about £91 – around 25–30 minutes.
• Minibus for up to 16 to the city centre: from about £101.

Meeting your driver

Edinburgh has a single terminal. The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name. We track your flight; the first 60 minutes after landing are free and parking is included.

Car, tram or bus?

The Edinburgh Trams run from the airport to the city centre, and the Airlink bus runs to Waverley. Both suit light travellers. A car is easier with luggage, for groups, and for hotels on the Royal Mile and in the Old Town, where the streets are steep and cobbled.

During the festivals

In August, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the International Festival fill the city. Traffic and road closures increase, and hotels are full. Book transfers early and allow extra time.

Beyond Edinburgh

We also take passengers to St Andrews, the Borders, Stirling and Glasgow. Each journey has a fixed price shown when you book.

Groups and families

A Standard Van takes 6 passengers and 4 suitcases; a minibus up to 16 passengers – useful for golf groups and weddings. Child seats are free on request.

Departures

From the city centre, allow about 30 minutes for the drive plus two hours before a European flight. Choosing “Return” adds the trip back with a discount on the return leg.
