Edinburgh Airport is the busiest in Scotland, about 13 km west of the city centre beside the A8 and the M8/M9 junctions. It serves Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, Stirling and, for many long-haul and European routes, Glasgow too.
The tram runs from the terminal to the city centre, which suits light travellers. A car takes you to the door and is the better choice for the Old Town's steep, narrow streets, for Fife and the golf courses of St Andrews, for Leith cruise passengers and for late arrivals.
Edinburgh has a single terminal, and every arriving passenger comes out into the same arrivals hall. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign; the first 60 minutes after landing are free and parking is included.
