The Fethiye area has resorts of every kind: beach hotels at Ölüdeniz and Çalış, family hotels in Hisarönü and Ovacık, and boutique hotels in the yachting village of Göcek. Each area has its own access road and its own travel time from the airports.
Resort areas and travel times from Dalaman
- Göcek – about 20 km from Dalaman Airport, around 30 minutes.
- Fethiye town and Çalış – about 46 km, around 50 minutes.
- Hisarönü and Ovacık – on the hill road towards Ölüdeniz, just over an hour.
- Ölüdeniz – about 58 km, around 1 hour 15 minutes, down a steep, winding road.
From Antalya Airport, all four areas are about three hours away, at a fixed €160 per vehicle for up to 6 passengers and 6 large suitcases. From Dalaman Airport, Fethiye town is €45 per vehicle; Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü and Göcek are priced by distance and shown on the booking form before you pay.
Arriving at the resort
Your driver stops at the main reception and unloads your luggage. If your room is not ready, the hotel will usually store your bags. In Ölüdeniz, some hotels are on the pedestrian beach promenade; the driver stops as close as vehicle access allows.
Check-out day
Check-out is generally around midday. For departures from Dalaman, a pickup about two and a half hours before an international flight is usually enough from Fethiye, a little more from Ölüdeniz. For Antalya, leave about five hours before departure.
Exploring from your resort
Boat trips to the Twelve Islands leave from Fethiye harbour, paragliders take off from Babadağ above Ölüdeniz, and the ghost village of Kayaköy is a short drive from Hisarönü. Further trips – Saklıkent gorge, Kaş, Pamukkale – are covered in transfers from Fethiye.
