About Portsmouth
Many passengers on this route are coming from the ferry port at Portsmouth or the naval base, or heading home from Southsea and Gunwharf Quays. We also collect from the university, Fareham, Havant, Waterlooville and Gosport. Tell us the ferry arrival time if you are coming off a boat. The usual route is the A3(M) and A3 to the M25, or the M27 and M3.
Car or train?
By train you change at Woking for the RailAir coach or travel via London. With ferry or holiday luggage, a car from the port or your door to the terminal is the easiest way, and the fare is per vehicle.
Fares by vehicle
- Economy Sedan (up to 4 passengers, 3 suitcases): from about £151
- First Class Sedan (4 passengers, 3 suitcases): about £212
- Standard Van (6 passengers, 4 suitcases): about £255
- First Class Van (6 passengers, 5 suitcases): about £410
- Minibus (up to 16 passengers, 10 suitcases): from about £456
You pay per car, not per passenger. Your exact fixed price appears on the booking form as soon as you add your address and date, and it stays the same whatever the traffic.
Pickup from your door
Book the pickup for about 3 hours before a short-haul departure (an hour more for long-haul). With a drive of about 1 h 15 min from Portsmouth, that leaves roughly 1 hour 45 minutes at Heathrow for check-in, bag drop and security in normal traffic. The driver comes to your door, loads the luggage and brings free child seats if you ask for them. Heathrow has four terminals: 2, 3, 4 and 5. Terminals 2 and 3 share the central area, while 4 and 5 sit on their own, so check that the terminal on your booking matches your ticket.
Arriving back
For the return to Portsmouth, the pickup is timed to your actual landing at Heathrow, not the schedule. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal holding a name sign, with 60 minutes free after touchdown and parking included in the fare. Choose "Return" on the booking form to book both trips together and save on the second one.
