Greenwich to Heathrow Taxi and Private Transfer: Fares, Journey Time and Pickup
Everything for your Greenwich to Heathrow transfer in one place: distance and journey time, fares per vehicle, the right pickup time and the return trip.
The journey
The distance is about 24 miles (39 km). In normal traffic the drive takes about 1 hour 10 minutes; allow longer at rush hour, on Friday afternoons and on bank holiday weekends. Through south London via the A2 and A205, or around the M25.
About Greenwich
We collect from Greenwich town centre, the O2 area, the university and homes in Blackheath and Charlton. Events at the O2 can make local traffic heavy.
Fares by vehicle
- Economy Sedan (up to 4 passengers, 3 suitcases): from about £71
- First Class Sedan (4 passengers, 3 suitcases): about £100
- Standard Van (6 passengers, 4 suitcases): about £112
- First Class Van (6 passengers, 5 suitcases): about £193
- Minibus (up to 16 passengers, 10 suitcases): from about £189
Each fare covers the whole vehicle, however many seats you fill. Enter your date and address on the booking form to see your exact price before paying; traffic on the day does not change it.
Pickup from your door
Book the pickup for about 3 hours before a short-haul departure (an hour more for long-haul). With a drive of about 1 h 10 min from Greenwich, that leaves roughly 1 hour 45 minutes at Heathrow for check-in, bag drop and security in normal traffic. The driver comes to your door, loads the luggage and brings free child seats if you ask for them. Heathrow has four terminals: 2, 3, 4 and 5. Terminals 2 and 3 share the central area, while 4 and 5 sit on their own, so check that the terminal on your booking matches your ticket.
Arriving back
Flying back into Heathrow? Your driver tracks the flight and waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal with your name on a sign. The first 60 minutes after landing are free and parking is already in the price, so a long passport queue costs you nothing. Book "Return" on the form to reserve both journeys at once with a discount on the way home to Greenwich.
