Book the pickup for about 3 hours before a short-haul departure (an hour more for long-haul). With a drive of about 1 h 20 min from Portsmouth, that leaves roughly 1 hour 45 minutes at Gatwick for check-in, bag drop and security in normal traffic. The driver comes to your door, loads the luggage and brings free child seats if you ask for them. Gatwick has two terminals, North and South, linked by a free shuttle train that takes about two minutes. Check which one your airline uses when you book, so you are dropped at the right door.

You get 60 minutes of free waiting from landing, and airport parking is included. Selecting "Return" when you book covers both legs and takes a discount off the return.
