Private Transfer to the Aspendos Theatre for History Lovers
The theatre at Aspendos is one of the best-preserved Roman theatres anywhere – a complete stage building and seating for thousands, still used for performances today. It lies inland from Belek, east of Antalya, and is an easy half-day trip with a private car.
Getting there
Aspendos is close to Belek (about 10 km) and roughly half an hour to forty minutes from Antalya Airport or Lara, depending on traffic. From Side it is about 35 km, from Kemer about 84 km. Journeys from your hotel are priced by distance; enter the route on the booking form to see the fixed price before you pay.
From the airport
If you have time on arrival day, the site is not far off the route to Belek and Side. Most travellers, though, visit during their stay, when they can enjoy it without luggage.
When to visit
- Early morning or late afternoon in summer – there is little shade.
- Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons.
- Check the current opening times and ticket prices directly with the site before you go.
What to see
Beyond the theatre, the site includes the remains of a basilica, an agora and one of the most impressive Roman aqueducts in Anatolia, visible across the plain. Allow at least an hour and a half for the theatre and the aqueduct.
Combining sites
A popular day combines Perge (just east of the airport), Aspendos and lunch in Belek or Serik, or Aspendos followed by Side’s old town and the Temple of Apollo at sunset. Book each leg separately at a fixed price, or choose “Return” for the way back to your hotel with a discount on the return leg.
