Side Airport Transfer: Antalya Airport to Side by Private Car
Side combines two holidays in one: a lively old town built on a Roman peninsula, and long sandy beaches lined with resort hotels on both sides of it. Most visitors fly into Antalya Airport (AYT), about an hour to the west. A private transfer is the simplest way to cover that hour, especially when you arrive late or with children.
The route
From the airport, your driver follows the D400 main road east, past the turn-offs for Belek and Serik, crosses the Köprüçay river and continues towards Manavgat. The distance to Side is about 65 km and the drive usually takes around an hour. In July and August, and on summer weekends, allow up to 80 minutes.
Price
The fixed fare from Antalya Airport to Side is €65 per vehicle. The same price applies to the whole Side area: Kumköy, Çolaklı, Evrenseki, Titreyengöl, Sorgun and Manavgat town. It covers a private Mercedes Vito for up to 6 passengers with 6 large suitcases, airport fees and 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. For a family or two couples sharing, that is a small amount per person – and it is the price of the car, not of each seat.
Which part of Side are you staying in?
- Kumköy – just west of the old town; hotels within walking distance of the centre.
- Çolaklı and Evrenseki – further west, with many large all-inclusive resorts.
- Side old town – boutique hotels on the peninsula, which is largely pedestrianised.
- Sorgun and Titreyengöl – east of the old town, quieter resorts among pine woods.
Type your hotel’s name in the search form and the price and pickup are calculated for the exact location.
Meeting your driver
Enter your flight number when booking. We follow the flight and adjust to the actual landing time. After passport control and baggage reclaim, your driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign. Child seats are free if requested in the booking notes.
Going back
For an international flight, leave Side about three hours before departure: an hour on the road and the rest for check-in and security. If you have a choice of airports, note that Gazipaşa–Alanya Airport is around 108 km from Side, so Antalya is usually the more convenient option.
Booking
Search “Antalya Airport” to your hotel on the booking form. Choosing “Return” adds the trip back to the airport in the same payment, with a discount on the return leg.
How to book, step by step
Step 1: Route
On the search form, enter “Antalya Airport” as pickup and your hotel’s name as destination. Always pick from the suggestions – that fixes the exact location and the price. If you are staying inside Side’s pedestrianised old town, choose your guesthouse anyway; the driver will stop as close as vehicle access allows.
Need the trip back too? Choose Return and enter the date and time you want to be collected from your hotel. Both journeys are paid together and the return leg is discounted.
Step 2: Date and time
Enter the date and scheduled landing time of your flight. We use the flight number to follow any change.
Step 3: Vehicle
The fixed fare to Side is €65 for a Mercedes Vito (6 passengers, 6 large suitcases). The same price applies to Kumköy, Çolaklı, Evrenseki, Sorgun, Titreyengöl and Manavgat. Larger vehicles appear with a “Get a Custom Quote” button.
Step 4: Details
- Name: appears on the driver’s sign.
- Email and phone: for the confirmation and day-of-travel contact.
- Passengers and suitcases: the form checks them against the vehicle.
- Flight number: for tracking.
- Notes: child seats (free), villa gate codes, prams, wheelchairs.
Step 5: Payment
Pay by card through Stripe. The amount on the button is final, in the currency you selected. The confirmation email with your booking reference arrives straight away.
Villas, apartments and door-to-door pickups
A door-to-door transfer takes you from the arrivals hall at Antalya Airport to the entrance of your accommodation, with no change of vehicle and no walk from a main-road bus stop. In Side, where accommodation ranges from big beach resorts to small guesthouses in the old town, the details of that last stretch differ from place to place.
Areas and fare
The fixed fare from Antalya Airport is €65 per vehicle to every part of the Side area:
- Side old town and Kumköy,
- Çolaklı and Evrenseki to the west,
- Sorgun and Titreyengöl to the east,
- Manavgat town and the villas and apartments in between.
The vehicle is a Mercedes Vito for up to 6 passengers and 6 large suitcases.
Old town guesthouses
The historic centre of Side, on the peninsula, is largely pedestrianised. If you are staying in a guesthouse or boutique hotel there, the driver will stop as close as vehicle access allows. Ask your hotel in advance whether they help guests with luggage from the drop-off point; many do.
Villas and apartments
For private accommodation in Side and Manavgat, please add to the booking notes:
- the name of the complex or villa and the block or house number,
- a phone number of the owner or manager,
- gate codes or landmarks that help after dark.
The journey
The driver meets you in arrivals with your name, loads the luggage and drives about an hour along the D400. At your accommodation, the bags are unloaded at the entrance. For the return, the pickup is at the same place and time you chose. If you book the return together with the arrival, the return leg is discounted.
Between accommodations
Changing hotels during your stay – for example from a Sorgun resort to a guesthouse in the old town, or from Side to Alanya (about 64 km) – can be booked the same way, from door to door, at a fixed price.
Planning your arrival and departure
A holiday in Side starts and ends with an hour on the D400 between Antalya Airport and your hotel. This planner covers everything you need to organise those journeys, plus the trips in between.
Before you leave home
- Book as soon as your flights are fixed. In July and August, Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days at Antalya Airport.
- Book the return at the same time. Choose “Return” on the search form; you pay once and the return leg is discounted.
- Add the flight number so we can follow your arrival.
- Mention children and extras. Child seats are free; let us know about buggies and bulky items.
Arrival day
Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign. The first 60 minutes after landing are free. The drive to Side is about 65 km and costs €65 per vehicle for up to 6 passengers and 6 large suitcases – the same for Kumköy, Çolaklı, Sorgun or Manavgat.
Days out from Side
Side is a good base for short trips. Approximate distances by road:
- Manavgat waterfall – 8 km, 15 minutes
- Aspendos – 35 km, 35 minutes
- Belek – 44 km, 50 minutes
- Perge – 59 km, 1 hour
- Alanya – 64 km, 1 hour 5 minutes
- Kaleiçi, Antalya old town – 74 km, 1 hour 20 minutes
Each journey can be booked at a fixed price; see long-distance transfers from Side.
Evenings in Side
Side’s old town comes alive after sunset, when the day-trip coaches have gone. If your hotel is in Çolaklı, Evrenseki or Sorgun, the old town is a short ride away; hotels in Kumköy are often within walking distance. For a dinner out at the harbour by the Temple of Apollo, book a return transfer for the time you want to leave and avoid the late-night taxi queue.
Departure day
Plan to leave Side about three hours before an international flight. On busy summer weekends, an extra half hour gives you a buffer for queues at check-in and security. Your driver collects you from your hotel entrance.
When plans change
Send changes at least 48 hours before the pickup. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the pickup; later cancellations are not refundable; see the cancellation policy.
All-inclusive resorts
The Side area stretches for more than 20 km along the coast, and most of its large all-inclusive resorts are not in Side itself but in the beach districts on either side of the old town. Knowing which district your resort is in helps you understand the journey – although the fare from Antalya Airport is the same for all of them.
Resort districts
- Çolaklı and Evrenseki – west of Side, a long beach with many large all-inclusive resorts; slightly closer to the airport.
- Kumköy – between Çolaklı and the old town; many hotels are within walking distance of Side’s centre.
- Sorgun and Titreyengöl – east of the old town, resorts set among pine woods near the Manavgat river mouth.
From Antalya Airport, the fixed fare to all of these is €65 per vehicle, for up to 6 passengers and 6 large suitcases. The drive is about an hour.
Arriving at your resort
Large resorts usually have a security gate. Your driver handles it and takes you to the main reception entrance, where the luggage is unloaded. Check-in normally involves passports and wristbands; if your room is not ready, the resort will keep your bags while you use its facilities.
Check-out day
Check-out is usually around midday, while many flights leave Antalya in the evening. Ask reception about a late check-out or a day room, and book your pickup about three hours before an international departure. The driver collects you from reception.
Leaving the resort during your stay
All-inclusive resorts are comfortable, but Side’s highlights are just outside the gate: the Temple of Apollo and the Roman theatre in the old town, the Manavgat waterfall about 8 km away, and Aspendos about 35 km west. Fixed-price transfers make these outings easy; see long-distance transfers from Side.
Airport taxi or pre-booked transfer?
Taxis from the rank
Licensed taxis wait outside the terminals at Antalya Airport. They charge by the meter, so the fare to Side depends on the route and the traffic and is paid at the end of the trip. Taxis are usually saloon cars with room for four passengers and limited luggage space. At busy times, especially on summer weekends, there may be a queue.
Which is better for you?
- Couple with hand luggage, daytime arrival: a taxi is a reasonable option if you are comfortable with a metered fare.
- Family or group of 3–6: the fixed €65 per vehicle is usually better value per person, and everyone fits in one car.
- Late-night arrival: a pre-booked car means no queue and no fare discussions when you are tired.
- Travelling with children: child seats are free with a transfer; taxis rarely have them.
Getting around Side itself
Within Side, taxis are handy for short hops between your hotel and the old town or Manavgat. Bear in mind that the old town on the peninsula is largely pedestrianised, so taxis and transfers stop at its edge. For longer outings – the Manavgat waterfall, Aspendos or Alanya – a pre-booked car at a fixed price is more comfortable.
Hotel transfers in Side
Compared with other options
- Public transport: cheapest, but usually involves a bus to Manavgat and a local bus or taxi from there, with luggage.
- Package coach: included in many holidays, but stops at many hotels.
- Hotel-arranged car: ask your hotel for its price and compare it with ours.
- Private transfer: direct, flight-tracked, with 60 minutes of free waiting and a driver waiting with your name.
Timing around your hotel
Hotels in Side usually let rooms from early afternoon and expect guests out around midday. After a morning arrival, go straight to the hotel – they will normally keep your bags while you have lunch. On departure day, ask about late check-out and book your pickup about three hours before your flight.
Old town hotels
For boutique hotels inside Side’s largely pedestrianised old town, the driver stops as close as vehicle access allows. Ask your hotel whether someone can meet you there to help with the luggage.
Moving between hotels
Two-centre holidays are popular in this part of the coast. From a Side hotel, Alanya is about 64 km away, Belek about 44 km and Lara about 64 km. A private transfer collects you at check-out time and drops you at your next hotel, so you never have to carry luggage onto a bus.
Groups, weddings and events
Start with the arrivals list
Send us the names, flight numbers, landing times, number of passengers per flight and hotel for each guest. We plan vehicles per flight:
- up to 6 passengers: one Mercedes Vito, €65 to Side;
- 7–12 passengers: two Vitos (€130) or a minibus;
- larger groups: minibuses, quoted individually.
Several hotels
Guests are often split between resorts – for example a main venue in Çolaklı and extra rooms in Kumköy or Manavgat. All of these are €65 per vehicle from Antalya Airport. Tell us who stays where and we will plan the drop-offs.
Signs and meeting
Drivers wait in arrivals with the event name, company name or guest name on the sign, as you prefer. Each flight is tracked, and the first 60 minutes after landing are free.
During the event
Programmes often include a dinner in Side’s old town, an excursion to the Manavgat waterfall or a visit to Aspendos. Note that the old town is largely pedestrianised: for evening events there, vehicles drop guests at the edge and collect them at an agreed time.
Departures
For departures, we plan pickups from each hotel by flight time. From Side, guests should leave about three hours before an international departure. Guests who stay on after the event can book their own return on the booking form.
