Tahtalı Cable Car from Antalya: Getting to the Base Station Near Tekirova
The cable car up Mount Tahtalı, sold as the Olympos Teleferik, climbs from the forest near Tekirova to a summit at about 2,365 metres. On a clear day you look down on the whole coast from Antalya to Kemer – and in spring you can see snow at the top while people swim below.
Distances to the base station
- From Antalya (Kaleiçi): about 63 km, around 1 hour 5 minutes.
- From Antalya Airport: about 72 km, around 1 hour 5 minutes.
- From Kemer, Kiriş or Tekirova: 15–25 minutes.
Timing
Go on a clear day, ideally in the morning before haze builds up. Check the operator’s website for operating times and weather closures – the cable car can stop in strong wind. At the top it can be 15–20 degrees cooler than on the beach, so bring a layer.
Booking a driver
Book the outward journey to the base station on the booking form and choose “Return” with a time later the same day – both legs are paid together, with a discount on the return. The fare is per vehicle, for up to 6 passengers, and shown before you pay. The base station is about 7 km up a forest road from the coast road, with no regular public transport.

At the summit
The upper station has a terrace and a café. On the clearest days you can see a long way along the coast and inland over the Taurus range. Allow about two hours in total for the ride up, time at the top and the ride down, plus any queue in high season.

Children usually love the ride. Child seats in the car are free on request, and the cable car cabins are large and enclosed.
